Vibrams Shoe Update
Here are a few developments in my barefoot experiment.
- I have hoped these shoes have a longer lifespan than the average pair of running shoes at the same price. I met a man in my travels last month in Seattle who has worn the same pair for two years now.
- I also learned at PAX that one of the chinks in the Vibrams Five Finger Shoe armor is the lack of padding is devastating after hours of standing. Walking and running is fine, but just standing. Not so good.
- I discovered this problem after a Mountain Stage show in Athens, Ohio. These shoes are supposed to simulate being barefoot. So they offer no comfort in winter weather. I actually run the risk of frost bite in these things.
